Time & Space
Title: Time and Space
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 36 Inch/72 Inch
Time is opaque as
it resists light and Space is transparent and substratum of cosmos. When there
was nothing Time was there and when there will be nothing, Time will be there.
Time is absolute and ever present and measureless. The power of deliberation
and power of expression respectively manifest themselves through the
determinant of space, here symbolized by the square. Space is female (Yoni),
Time is male (Ling).
The square of human experience with the four directions
extending to infinity ,projecting the four regions between the directions
north, south, east and west, the dimensions unfold as the three qualities(sattva, rajas, tamas)
of nature(prakriti) and a fourth which is ego-sense(Ahamkara) out of which the
grosser elements of the world are evolved.
Sattva(Bright Golden yellow): Essence or balancing force
Rajas(Red):
Dynamic quality
Tamas(black): State of inertia
Ahamkara(Green): ego-Sense
According to Indian philosophy whole purpose of life is
to overcome Tamas,Rajas, and Ahamkara and achieve state of purity of sattva. There is Only way to
overcome Tamsa is through physical labor,Rajas can be overcome by doing work, which stills one's mind. Offer
fruits of all your good work to the Supreme and it will kill Ahamkara. There
remains Satva after winning Tamas,Rajas and Ahamkara.
"Be still and know that I am GOD". (Psalm 46:10)
